这是在东映频道和家庭剧场（均为CS电视台）的“电视剧交叉项目”下制作的首个翻拍版。于2012年10月1日在东映频道首次播出。同年12月，该频道还计划播出将本作品与《Play Girl 2012》的故事串联起来的特别电视剧《特搜最前线×Play Girl 2012》。

80年代，被视为藤冈弘代表作的这部作品，是《Lady Hard 香港大搜查线》《皇家战士》系列的第三部。它启用了继米歇尔·杨之后的动作女星辛西娅·凯恩担任主角，这部作品成了她的成名作，该系列后续一直制作到了第七部。这也是藤冈弘继《SF 剑杀》之后进军海外的第二部作品。影片中能看到主角使用44马格南手枪射击的场面。西胁美智子和迪克·韦组成的极恶组合表现十分出彩。客串嘉宾还有理查德·翁等众多知名明星。影片由阮宇平执导，主演包括甄子丹、辛西娅·凯恩、藤冈弘、西胁美智子等。
